31st Annual Student Research Week

In a 1920 article he penned for Modern Medicine, noted American bacteriologist and public health expert Charles-Edward A. A Passion for Teaching

After spending the first 35 years of his career at Georgia Regents University, Vadivel Ganapathy, Ph.D., arrived at TTUHSC in 2014 as the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences chair and professor for the Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry. His journey to Lubbock, however, began in the 1970s when he earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Madras University in India.

Graduate Students Earn Awards, Scholarships

As an undergraduate student at Peru State College in Nebraska, Whitni Redman had her first glimpse into research working with coyotes. Trappers brought in coyotes and the research team studied the gastrointestinal tracts of the animals.

When Cancer Hits Close to Home

Riccay Elizondo, a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate from San Angelo, remembers wanting to be a veterinarian at the age of three and then a physician in high school. But then in her senior year as an undergraduate in college, she took an immunology class, and the experience opened her eyes to a whole new world of research — she was hooked.
