Poison Center Sets Spring Medication Cleanout Dates

The Texas Panhandle Poison Center (TPPC) announced dates for its annual three-stop spring Medication Cleanout cycle. The biannual collection will get underway March 23 at the TTUHSC Amarillo campus, with additional Medication Cleanout collections scheduled for April 13 in Abilene and April 27 in Lubbock.

We use our brains to move our limbs, to communicate, to manage our emotions and to think about ourselves and the world around us. Any of these functions can be impaired by a stroke. In fact, stroke is the most common cause of these impairments and the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Educating the Next Generation of Physicians

Williams, originally from Dublin, Ireland, moved to Lubbock, Texas, as an assistant professor in 1995 after completing postdoctoral training in the area of gene regulation and cancer at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland. He was promoted to associate professor in 2001 and served as Director of Research at the Southwest Cancer Research and Treatment Center until 2005.
