TTUHSC Recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution
The Hispanic-Serving Institution designation is granted to eligible institutions of higher education with an enrollment of undergraduate full-time Hispanic students greater than 25%, in addition to other criteria set by the Department of Education that promotes accessibility and affordability to traditionally underrepresented communities.

Working to Inspire Change
As part of the ongoing efforts of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) to address and confront the underlying causes and effects of systemic and institutional racism that exist in our country, co-chairs Erin Justyna, Ph.D., and Chris Townsend, Ph.D., have formed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
Empowering Medical Students
SNMA is one of the nation’s oldest and largest independent, student-run organizations focused on the needs and concerns of culturally diverse medical students. The TTUHSC School of Medicine SNMA chapter participates in various projects including mentoring undergraduate students, promoting health care fields with elementary students, organizing community health fairs, working with the undergraduate community and helping improve medical school curriculum and admissions.
East meets West at TTUHSC, Japanese pharmacy school
During their first rotation block as fourth-year School of Pharmacy students, Cameron Lowery and Samantha Gazzola traveled from the TTUHSC Dallas campus to Keio University in Tokyo, Japan as exchange students.
Cultural diversity displayed at International Night
Students, faculty, staff and friends gathered recently for the School of Pharmacy’s International Night, an annual celebration of the diverse cultures within the school.
