Abilene Campus, HSU Sign Public Health Partnership
Representatives from the TTUHSC campus in Abilene and the city’s Hardin-Simmons University signed an articulation agreement Aug. 24 that will allow qualified HSU students to enter TTUHSC’s public health degree program after completing three years of prerequisites at HSU.
Poison Center schedules next Medication Cleanout events
The Texas Panhandle Poison Center recently announced its fall collection cycle for Medication Cleanout. The fall collections will begin Sept. 29 at the TTUHSC campus in Amarillo. Additional collections are scheduled for Oct. 13 in Lubbock and Oct. 27 in Abilene.

Terry Bentley Hill, a criminal defense attorney in Dallas, delivered the keynote address, titled “Stop Minding Your Own Business.” Her presentation focused upon mental health and suicide, subjects that have recently produced national headlines.
Abilene Student Uses ACCP Scholarship to Advance Career Interest
Earlier this year, rising fourth-year student Alex Le from the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy in Abilene was named one of three recipients of a $500 competitive scholarship to attend an ACCP meta-analysis research training course.
TTUHSC Public Health Program Receives Accreditation
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Masters of Public Health (MPH) program received accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health. Theresa Byrd, DrPH, associate dean and chair of the TTUHSC Julia Jones Matthews Department of Public Health, said the program now is accredited until 2023.
Pharmacy Hosts Seventeenth Research Days
Faculty and student scientists from met June 13-14 in Amarillo for the School of Pharmacy’s Seventeenth Annual Research Days, an interdisciplinary forum that spotlights the school’s research activities during the past year.
Pharmacy organization recognizes Abilene student leader
Hayley Brazeale was named one of 12 pharmacy students nationwide to receive a 2018 ASHP Student Leadership Award.
