Amarillo researchers identify promising compounds to treat neurodegenerative diseases
New compounds designed and synthesized in the lab of Paul Trippier, Ph.D., show the effects of protecting human neurons from a form of cell death common in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
National Memory Screening Day
The TTUHSC Department of Internal Medicine in Amarillo annually offers free memory screening in conjunction with National Memory Screening Day.
Amarillo and Abilene faculty honored
In conjunction with his annual State of the University Address in Lubbock, TTUHSC President Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., recognized 25 university faculty members, including several from the Amarillo and Abilene campuses.
TTUHSC professor helps define new blood pressure guidelines
Eric MacLaughlin, Pharm.D., a professor and chair for the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice in Amarillo, was a member of the interdisciplinary committee that worked on the new blood pressure guidelines released recently by the ACC and AHA.

Students from the TTUHSC campus in Amarillo shared their passion for science with local middle school and high school girls at the 2017 Women in Science Endeavors (WISE) Symposium.
