Pharmacy Students Practice Residency Interview Skills

Karamyan Receives Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award
Vardan T. Karamyan, Ph.D., an associate professor for the School of Pharmacy, was one of four Texas Tech University System faculty members to receive a Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching Award Jan. 24 in Lubbock.
Trailblazing Professors
The pioneering spirit was ubiquitous in 1969. In May of that year, the Texas Legislature and Gov. Preston Smith created Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. John Pelley and Dr. Samuel Prien were among the original members of the team that were entrusted to teach the next generation of health care professionals.

The American Heart Association (AHA) proudly announced Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) as the official sponsor of a hands-only CPR training kiosk in Lubbock, Texas. A ribbon-cutting for the kiosk was held on January 22, 2019 at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Physicians
The Doctors for a Day Mini Camp was hosted by TTUHSC medical students as a part of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) efforts to encourage underrepresented students to become physicians. The mission of the camp was to inspire and inform the elementary students to experience a day in the life of a medical student.
