Chancellor’s Council Recognizes Texas Tech University System’s Top Faculty
Texas Tech University System Chancellor Robert Duncan recently recognized 14 faculty members from the system’s four component institutions as recipients of the 2018 Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching and Research Awards. These awards recognize excellence in academics and research, and are the most prestigious honors granted to faculty members throughout the TTU System.

F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health Grades States’ Rural Health
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health ranked states with rural counties (47) on the quality of their rural health. The report ranks states on a 4.0 scale by measuring mortality, morbidity and access to health care of rural counties. Overall, 10 states received a grade of A, while nine received a failing grade.

TTUHSC Licenses Rights to Limb-girdle Muscular Dystrophy Gene
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) has licensed patent rights to the limb-girdle muscular dystrophy gene, nano-dysferlin developed by Bryan Sutton, Ph.D., associate professor in the TTUHSC Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics.
