TTUHSC Hosts National Latino Medical Student Association Conference

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Office of the President and School of Medicine will host the 14th Annual Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) National Conference and 7th Annual Southwest Regional Conference March 22-23.

Masking Up for a Great Cause

Medical students began the Lubbock City Lights tradition in 1997. Since then, more than $1 million has been raised and helped numerous local charities and organizations in the West Texas community.

Eleventh Annual Update in General Internal Medicine

The goal of the conference is to provide health care professionals involved in primary care with knowledge in current, contemporary and common issues relevant to internal medicine and general practice.

Making A Difference: The Free Clinic Extraordinary Volunteers

Volunteering at The Free Clinic has furthered my desire to help people from communities of need, specifically, the Spanish-speaking patients.

Explore, Engage and Imagine

TTUHSC schools have worked collaboratively to provide the West Texas community insight into health care fields. High school students, college students and current professionals interested in entering a new career are encouraged to attend.

Early Dedication to Medical Education

EDME is for all students who have an interest in the medical field. EDME’s goal is to build a connection between high school students and the TTUHSC School of Medicine.

Brain health – keeping us safe from disabling stroke

We use our brains to move our limbs, to communicate, to manage our emotions and to think about ourselves and the world around us. Any of these functions can be impaired by a stroke. In fact, stroke is the most common cause of these impairments and the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Values at Work

Abilene faculty and staff presented with commemorative coins representing one of the five values of TTUHSC.

Educating the Next Generation of Physicians

Williams, originally from Dublin, Ireland, moved to Lubbock, Texas, as an assistant professor in 1995 after completing postdoctoral training in the area of gene regulation and cancer at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland. He was promoted to associate professor in 2001 and served as Director of Research at the Southwest Cancer Research and Treatment Center until 2005.
