New Public Art Installed at TTUHSC Campus
Visitors to the new Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) University Center will “collaborate” with the newest addition to the collection of the Texas Tech University System (TTUS) Public Art Program, “PULSE,” created by artist Adam Frank.
TTUHSC Hosts National Latino Medical Student Association Conference
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Office of the President and School of Medicine will host the 14th Annual Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) National Conference and 7th Annual Southwest Regional Conference March 22-23.
Eleventh Annual Update in General Internal Medicine
The goal of the conference is to provide health care professionals involved in primary care with knowledge in current, contemporary and common issues relevant to internal medicine and general practice.
Explore, Engage and Imagine
TTUHSC schools have worked collaboratively to provide the West Texas community insight into health care fields. High school students, college students and current professionals interested in entering a new career are encouraged to attend.
Early Dedication to Medical Education
EDME is for all students who have an interest in the medical field. EDME’s goal is to build a connection between high school students and the TTUHSC School of Medicine.
GiRL Power to Feature Miss Texas 2018
The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health will host GiRL Power (Girls in Real Life) from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Amarillo Civic Center Regency Room.
TTUHSC Pediatrics Club & TTU Athletics host Kids Health Fair
The TTUHSC Pediatrics Club & TTU Athletics hosted a Halloween Kids Health Fair, where students educated children about choosing a healthy lifestyle and making better choices.
You Are Never Too Old to Get Vaccinated
The Free Clinic will partner with the Lubbock Health Department to offer free vaccines from 3 to 5 p.m. every third Wednesday at Lubbock Impact 2707 34th St. Vaccines will include pneumococcal, hepatitis A and B, influenza, TdaP (for tetanus, diphtheria and adult whooping cough), Gardasil (for human papillomavirus), meningococcal (for meningitis) and Zostavax (for shingles).
Surgeons provide free hernia screening
The TTUHSC-Amarillo Department of Surgery teamed up with Northwest Texas Hospital on Sept. 23 to provide no-cost hernia screenings for area patients. Surgeons Darren Peterson, M.D., and LaJohn Quigley, M.D., said more than 20 area people attended the event.
