Lubbock City Lights Receives Award for Outstanding Volunteer Organization
Lubbock City Lights recieved the Outstanding Volunteer Organization from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Lubbock Chapter.This award honors a civic organization that demonstrates outstanding skills in coordinating and motivating fundraising projects for the benefit of their mission.

Barber Shops and Blood Pressure Checks
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center medical students have worked with barbershops and beauty salons to tackle a silent killer — high blood pressure. The Barber Shop Blood Pressure Group allows customers to do one-stop shopping when it comes to their barber and their health.
TTUHSC School of Nursing Dean Recognized for Outstanding Service by American Nurses Credentialing Center
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) presented its prestigious Margretta Madden Styles President’s Award to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing Dean Michael Evans, Ph.D., R.N., NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN. The award recognizing his outstanding eight years of service as ANCC president, board member, and board director was announced Oct. 25 at the National Magnet Conference in Denver.
Researcher's quest for new weapons to fight nature's nastiest superbugs
In honor of her career of achievement, Rumbaugh was awarded the Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Research Award, the most prestigious honor given to faculty members throughout the Texas Tech University System.
