Flu season is here. As a physician, I have heard many reasons as to why a patient does not want the flu shot. The responses range from, "I never take the flu shot because one time I did, I got the flu" and "I am afraid to take the flu shot because my sister got hers and then got sick." Neither of these responses is reason not to get the influenza vaccine. Consider the basics.
