Faculty Women’s Club

The Faculty Women's Club is open to all faculty wives, residents' wives and female faculty members.
Attending school or teaching in a new and unfamiliar city can not only be challenging for students and faculty members, but also their loved ones.
The Faculty Women’s Club formerly the Faculty Wives Club was established in 1973 to give TTUHSC faculty spouses an opportunity to meet other women with similar backgrounds and get to know the Hub City. The group was later expanded to include female faculty members.
The goals of the Faculty Women’s Club are:
- To provide a support network of women who understand the unique aspects of medical family life
- To help in the transition for newcomers to TTUHSC and Lubbock
- To support the faculty recruitment efforts of the School of Medicine by hosting visitors during the faculty candidate interview process
- To establish relationships with similar women's groups, like the Texas Tech University Women's Club and the Lubbock-Crosby-Garza County Medical Society Alliance
- To encourage participation in West Texas cultural and family opportunities
The club meets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Tuesday September through April, and is open to all TTUHSC faculty wives, residents' wives and female faculty members. Faculty Women’s Club members are also eligible to join the Texas Tech Women’s Club and participate in their activities.
Each Faculty Women’s Club meeting includes a field trip or program at a member’s home, followed by lunch. In December, the club participates in the University Women’s Club Holiday Coffee. On Valentine’s Day, the Faculty Women’s Club sponsors a wine dinner at Skyviews of Texas Tech.
Annual dues are $20 for faculty and $10 for residents. Members whose spouses are deceased or have retired from TTUHSC are considered life members exempt from dues. The TTUHSC president/spouse and the Texas Tech System chancellor/spouse are considered honorary life members.
For more information about membership, contact any of the Faculty Women’s Club officers, or download and complete a membership form.
