Before Duane Nellis, Texas Tech’s president, threw out the opening pitch, he spoke at an alumni reception at Anson 11, along with Kirby Hocutt, Texas Tech’s athletic director; Tim Douglass, associate VP of the Texas Tech Alumni Association; and Dr. Richard Lange, founding president of Texas Tech’s University Health Sciences Center in El Paso and dean of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.
