King George Medical University in Lucknow, India, has awarded a doctor of science degree to Dr. Surendra K. Varma, associate dean for graduate medical education and resident affairs, Ted Hartman Endowed Chair in Medical Education and professor of physiology and health organization management at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Varma received the honor for achievements as an “academician, clinician and teacher.” He received his M.D. from King George Medical University, where he did post graduate studies in pediatrics.
