Texas Instruments Inc. is collaborating with researchers at a Texas Tech University professor on research for the early detection of falls among the elderly. Donald Lie, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Texas Tech and an adjunct associate professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's surgery department, is developing a sensor to detect and reduce falls in the geriatric population, including people with Parkinson's disease and dementia.
