New program to accelerate training for UTEP nursing graduates - El Paso Times

Through a new $4 million grant, the University of Texas at El Paso aims to accelerate on-the-job training for registered nurses to combat an anticipated nursing shortage in Texas. The four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor will allow new nursing graduates from UTEP, the University of Texas at Austin and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to apply for an immersion residency at eight HCA Healthcare-operated hospitals, including Del Sol and Las Palmas Medical Centers in El Paso.
