'You lose money' - small clinics leaving Medicaid system - Amarillo.com

More Texas doctors are leaving the Medicaid system and fewer than one-third are accepting new Medicaid patients. That’s the lowest percentage ever, according to recently released numbers from the Texas Medical Association.

“It’s not feasible any more for the smaller clinics to take Medicaid,” said Lisa Campbell, managing director of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine at Amarillo.
