Major Cuts To Family Planning Funding 07/07/11 - CBS 7

A health bill passed in Austin is cutting family planning funding by 66 percent. Any organization receiving funding from Title XX will have to endure major cuts, including local Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. According to Planned Parenthood of West Texas, those most affected will be minors and males.

“It’s going to be a major hit, we won’t be able to serve as many people as we usually do,” said Carla Holeva, Vice President of Community Affairs, Planned Parenthood of West Texas.
