Students embarking on the journey to a fulfilling nursing career have an abundance of decisions to make regarding their future. While some of those choices might be daunting, choosing where to attend school should not have to be one of them. The School of Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) has a flagship campus in Lubbock, Texas—but that is only one part of who we are. We are proud to graduate the next generation of health care professionals in five locations across Texas.

Abilene
- SIM Center: The campus itself is a state-of-the-art facility with a cutting-edge Simulation Center, allowing students to experience simulated, realistic health care environments.
- Walkability: The Abilene campus is walking-distance from the local hospital, optimizing students’ time and convenience.
- Collaborative opportunities: There are numerous opportunities for interprofessional collaboration within TTUHSC and among the many other outstanding universities in the community.
- Centrally located: The Abilene campus is centrally-located between Lubbock and the DFW metroplex.
- Scholarship opportunities: Abilene offers local scholarships in addition to the scholarship opportunities that already exist for all TTUHSC School of Nursing students.
- Top-tier faculty: Abilene’s doctoral and masters-prepared faculty have been a part of numerous national and international presentations and publications.
- The Abilene model: The Abilene model is an academic partnership with Hendrick Medical Center, allowing nursing students to receive clinical credit while working for the hospital.
Amarillo
- Newest campus: Amarillo is the newest regional campus for the School of Nursing, now offering traditional and accelerated BSN programs physically on their campus. This means there are new, state-of-the-art classrooms and a student lounge specifically for nursing students.
- Strong sense of community: Close ties within the community promote a real sense of belonging for students, allowing engagement and participation in various campus and community events. Amarillo also offers collaborative experiences with other schools, including the schools of medicine, pharmacy and health professions, along with the Texas Tech University (TTU) School of Veterinary Medicine.
- Incredible student scores: The most recent ABSN and Traditional BSN graduates from the Amarillo campus have 100% NCLEX pass rates.
- IPE activities: The above-listed disciplines participate in unique activities in interprofessional education, including the Amarillo research symposium, Disaster Day, Red Bag tours and various student career fairs.
- SIM Center: The incredible Amarillo Simulation Center puts students in simulated, realistic health care environments, allowing them to work with others in the nursing field while also working alongside students in other fields of study.
- Scholarships: In addition to TTUHSC’s School of Nursing scholarships, there are local scholarship opportunities provided.
- Clinical practice opportunities: Amarillo offers academic and clinical practice partnership in collaboration with leading clinical faculty. Additionally, Baptist St. Anthony’s Healthcare System (BSA) allows LEVEL 4 students to receive clinical credit while working on their hired units.
Dallas & Mansfield
The School of Nursing offers program opportunities at our Dallas campus, including accelerated BSN, RN-BSN, graduate nursing programs and a traditional BSN program offered by the School of Nursing at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
- Earn your degree entirely in DFW: Nearly 25% of students enrolled in the School of Nursing live in DFW while completing our programs. From our Dallas campus, students can complete our programs without ever leaving the metroplex.
- Prerequisite options for Traditional BSN students: Students in the Traditional BSN program can complete prerequisites without leaving DFW. These prerequisites can be completed entirely online through TTU or by attending a local community college.
- Mansfield partnership: The traditional BSN program utilizes our site located in Mansfield. TTUHSC benefits from a partnership with the Methodist Health System. Clinicals and simulation are primarily completed in the Mansfield community, and in 2025 the School of Nursing is starting a clinical practice partnership where students can receive clinical credit while working for the hospital.
- Accelerated BSN program location and partnerships: The accelerated BSN (ABSN) program uses the Dallas location for simulation and proctored exams. The ABSN program partners with four major health care systems for clinical placements: Methodist Health System, Parkland Health, Texas Health Resources, Baylor Scott and White, and HCA Medical City.
- SIM Center: Simulation experience is offered in both Dallas and Mansfield, with a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art Simulation Center available for students on the Dallas campus.
- Remarkable pass rates: For our Dallas students, The ABSN Program has an overall 97% pass rate and a 100% first-time NCLEX pass rate for the most recent graduating class and our traditional BSN program in Mansfield has maintained a 100% NCLEX first-time pass rate for the past three graduating classes.
- Post-graduation opportunities: Students within the Dallas programs are often successfully hired into their first choice of nurse residency program, many of which are in the DFW metroplex.
Odessa
- Tight-knit community: Students benefit from the fact that the local clinical sites are within close proximity to the Permian Basin campus.
- SIM Center: Located on the seventh floor of Medical Center Hospital, the Permian Basin campus is home to a state-of-the-art simulation center where students can collaborate and gain professional experience. The simulation center is also within walking distance of the campus.
- Scholarship opportunities: There are scholarship opportunities for students in the Permian Basin, many of which come from generous TTUHSC donors.
- Community support: The warm community provides outstanding support, providing students and graduates with financial and professional opportunities.
- Unique rural health care experience: The Permian Basin region promotes a strong sense of belonging for students and allows future health care professionals to gain the important experiences that come with providing health care services in a rural area.
- Modern facilities: Equipped with the latest technology, the facilities at the Permian Basin enhance student learning and prepare students for real-world professional experiences.
- Intimate class size: Small class sizes in the Permian Basin ensure faculty will know each student by name and help them on their individual journeys.
