Cancer: A Preventable Disease
Cancer incidence is continuously rising in the State of Texas. The American Cancer Society (ACS) projects 124,890 new cases will be diagnosed in Texas during 2019, and approximately 41,300 people will die due to the disease.
Brain-Centered Pharmacology & Pathophysiology
There are many reasons why scientists are drawn to their particular fields of research. For some, it may start with a child’s curiosity to learn more about the world in which they live. Others may have been influenced by a family member or friend whose individual circumstances lit a motivational fuse. For Luca Cucullo, Ph.D., it was a series of seeing-is-believing moments that sparked his passion for investigating brain-centered pharmacology/pathophysiology research.
Local Patient Finds an Ally at TTUHSC
For years, Canyon resident Ashley Campbell lived with symptoms that eventually would lead to a diagnosis of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system that has many causes.
