The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is making a point of providing breast and cervical cancer screenings through a program aimed at women who may not have the financial means to get access to either.

“What’s neat about this program is if any of these women get diagnosed with either breast cancer or cervical cancer, even pre-cancer cells, if they don’t have insurance and they meet financial criteria, then we are able to set them up with Medicaid, which will cover treatment,” Garcia said.
