Students came to tour the new GSBS office.

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences recently hosted a come-and-go open house to show off its new office space in TTUHSC Suite 5BC100.

The school was originally housed on the second floor of the building in the "B" pod, but made the move last month to the fifth floor to provide the GSBS with a more visible location for visiting students and parents.

"By locating the GSBS central office permanently on the fifth floor, it places our staff in close proximity to our current students and faculty," said Brandt L. Schneider, Ph.D., dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. "Our new location, in a beautiful and spacious office suite, is more than twice as large as our previous home and will greatly facilitate growth and expansion of all GSBS programs."

Schneider said moving to the a central location on the fifth floor will also greatly improve communication and interactions between students, staff and faculty.

"This in turn will lead to better recruitment, retention and training of graduate students," Schneider said. "It is the general consensus that this move will be viewed as a significant strength in our next accreditation visit."
