Telemedicine 101 - Abilene

WHAT: The TexLa Telehealth Resource Center, part of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC)’s F. Marie Hall Institute for Rural and Community Health, is hosting free Telemedicine 101 presentations to educate health care professionals about telemedicine.

WHEN: 10 a.m. – noon, Friday (Feb. 14)

WHERE: TTUHSC School of Nursing, Room 2500, 302 Pine St., Abilene, Texas

EVENT: TTUHSC has one of the longest running telemedicine programs in the nation, with health care providers seeing between 450-500 patients per month remotely. In addition, telehealth can help as 32 million more Americans become insured as mandated by the Affordable Care Act.

Telemedicine 101 attendees will have the opportunity to see the technology in action and learn about the benefits to patients who must travel from other communities throughout Texas and Louisiana to receive health care services.
