Joint replacement surgeries, particularly of the hip and knee, are seeing shorter recovery times than ever due to continuing technological advancements, according to specialists.

“There are quite a few new technologies,” said Dr. Enes Kanlic, professor of orthopaedic surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. “We do have better materials. We have polyethylene, which is now much better and lasts much longer than it used to be in the past.”
