If you have not already, doctors say it's still worth getting the flu shot. "Part of the issue with the flu is that we had a mutation of the virus back in March. So, the strain that's circulating isn't a great match with the vaccine, it's still probably helps some, but not as much as it usually does and that highlights the importance of people getting their vaccines each year because those years that we do have a good match, we don't have as big of an outbreak," says Todd Bell, M.D., Texas Tech Physicians.
