Physician Assistants To Receive White Coats at Ceremony

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) at the Permian Basin School of Allied Health Sciences Physician Assistant (PA) Program will host a White Coat Ceremony for the graduates of the Class of 2014 at 6 p.m., Friday at Stonegate Fellowship, 6000 W. Wadley, Midland

More than 50 TTUHSC at the Permian Basin Physician Assistant graduates will receive their white coats at the ceremony. This is the 14th class to graduate from the TTUHSC at the Permian Basin School of Allied Health Sciences PA Program.

“Physician Assistants have a key role in easing the shortage of health care providers and providing access to care – especially those from diverse populations,” said TTUHSC School of Allied Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program Director Christina Robohm. “The White Coat Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates, and we look forward to the many patients they will serve.”

The White Coat Ceremony stresses the importance of humanism and professionalism in the practice of medicine. The white coat has been the visual hallmark of medical professionals since the 19th century.
