Using the Arts in Nursing
WHAT: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing Founding Dean and writer Teddy Jones, R.N., Ph.D., will present, “Using the Arts in Nursing: How and Why,” to nursing faculty.
WHEN: 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Oct. 16 (Wednesday)
WHERE: TTUHSC Academic Classroom Building, 3601 4th St., Room 100
EVENT: Jones earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, and her master’s in nursing with a focus in medical-surgical administration from the University of Texas System School of Nursing at Austin. She earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction in higher education from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jones served as founding dean of the TTUHSC School of Nursing from 1979 to 2000, where she also received her post master’s family nurse practitioner certificate.
Jones is now self-employed as a writer. She is the author of “Jackson's Pond, Texas: A Novel,” “Halfwide: A Novel,” “Left Early, Arrived Late: Scenes from the Life of Marcia Muth,” “Memory Painter,” and co-author of “A Stone For Every Journey,” and “100 Doses: Capsules of Advice and Wisdom for the Health and Well-being of Farm and Ranch Women.”
