Wayne State Board expected to hire school's next president today - The Detroit News

Wayne State University's Board of Governors meets today for what is expected to be a formal vote to hire M. Roy Wilson, a deputy director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, as the university's 12th president.

Before taking his current job last year, Wilson was chairman of the board of trustees at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, where he was acting president from 2010-11. He also was chancellor at the University of Colorado, Denver, and its Health Science Center in Aurora; president of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; and dean of the medical school and vice president at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
