Officials at the Texas Tech University System announced Feb. 8 that its capital campaign and most ambitious fundraising effort has crossed the $1 billion mark nearly a year ahead of schedule.

Officially announced Sept. 17, 2010, the Vision & Tradition campaign has spurred an extraordinary time of growth at all three of the Texas Tech University System’s component institutions: Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Angelo State University. Of the several areas benefiting from the campaign, preliminary numbers indicate approximately $145 million is being invested in students by creating scholarships; more than $70 million is being invested in faculty by establishing endowments; and more than $470 million is being invested in academic programs, innovative research and university initiatives.
