It was an exciting day today at the Civic Center for many families celebrating a son or a daughter going into the field of medicine. Dozens of our future doctors lined up to participate in the traditional white coat ceremony, the first rite of passage from general studies to medical school.
Dr. Steven Berk, dean of the School of Medicine at Texas Tech, says more than 100 medical schools in the country use this ceremony to emphasize the years of dedication and hard work ahead of them.
