West Texas cancer researchers, health experts and patient advocates gathered in Lubbock on Thursday to discuss the future of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.

Participants brainstormed and made recommendations to CPRIT about how the 3-year-old institute can have the greatest impact on cancer in Texas during the next seven years. The Future Directions meeting was hosted at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and participants joined in the discussion from the HSC’s El Paso and Odessa campuses by video conference and email.
