Texas Tech’s Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science received the 2011-12 Role Model Chapter award for outstanding professional development during a recent National SACNAS Conference.

The award was given for the chapter’s Science in 3-D monthly events, which take place the third week of each month. Professors and graduate students from Tech and the Health Sciences Center talk to students about their research and give a tour of their research facilities.
