A grant from the state will go to help mothers and babies in the area. The Texas Department of State Health Services has given a $200,000 grant to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing, specifically to develop a coalition aimed at reducing pre-term birth and infant mortality in Lubbock County.
