The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that more than 1.1 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection. Nearly 1in 5 of those people are unaware of their infection. The World Health Organization set World AIDS Day for Dec. 1, and communities are asked to Act Aware.
