While growing up in Nigeria, Halima Sani saw first-hand the devastation brought by the lack of food, unavailability of clean drinking water and almost no access to medication in several places.

The 22-year-old decided to be a pharmacist in the hopes of going back to her native land to serve her people. She was one of the 43 men and women who participated Sunday afternoon in Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy's White Coat Ceremony at the Paramount Theatre.
