Two men fighting to represent El Paso in the U.S. House of Representatives are taking off the gloves as the election expected to determine which of them will occupy the seat draws closer.


Panetta toured Fort Bliss and learned about the need for a new $1 billion Army medical center, Reyes said. When then-House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., visited Texas Tech's new Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in 2009, Reyes said, he learned that the El Paso area has a critical shortage of medical professionals.
