State of the University Shows Promise for the Future, Commitment from Faculty

State of UniversityTexas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) President Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., delivered the State of the University address on Nov. 3. TTUHSC is continuing to grow as the Lubbock campus displays plans for the new facilities and the Amarillo and Permian Basin campuses break ground on a new clinical simulation center and Academic Building respectively.

 

“TTUHSC is working to fulfill the increasing demand of health care professionals across disciplines,” Mitchell said. “The new facilities we are building are a testament to the success of our institution. As we edge closer to our 50-year mark as a university, we reflect on how we’ve grown. Now is the time to determine our legacy. We will continue to strive for greatness in research, education and patient care. We know this effort is not singular. We would like to thank our faculty for their efforts in making great strides toward turning our students into ambitious health professionals, improving community health outcomes and giving our patients hope.”

The TTUHSC School of Nursing hosted a 10-Year Anniversary Celebration and Open House for the Abilene Community Health Center. The center is one of 71 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Texas according to the Texas Health and Human Services.
