Texas Tech endocrinology fellowship to provide diabetics more care - MyWestTexas.com

The addition of an endocrinology fellowship at Texas Tech University’s School of Medicine at the Permian Basin means more West Texans with diabetes, thyroid issues and other endocrine system disorders will have more access to specialized treatment.

“In keeping with the vision and mission of Texas Tech, which is to train young doctors and provide excellent patient care to our West Texas community, it’s important that we create local expertise, which is available, but is very scarce,” said Rama Chemitiganti, a TTUHSC associate professor of internal medicine who will begin his endocrinology fellowship Aug. 1.
