During the next biennium, the Texas Tech System will see increased funding for research in a variety of areas, making the 83rd Session of the Texas Legislature one of the most successful for the System.

Along with the approval of the freestanding Tech Health Sciences Center at El Paso, the fourth component in the Tech System, the Legislature granted the System an increased amount of money for formula funding, the Texas Research Incentive Program, the Research Development Fund, the Competitive Knowledge Fund, the Freshman College Funding, graduate medical education and the physician education loan repayment program, according to a statement released by Hance.
