Knowing the dire need for an additional baccalaureate nursing program in the Permian Basin, UTPB began developing a nursing program in 2011 by hiring Dorothy Jackson as nursing director. The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing at Odessa is currently the only local program that allows students to complete a BSN.
