Texas Tech University’s College of Education, the Lubbock Independent School District and multiple community partners will celebrate the award of a major 2012 Promise Neighborhoods grant from the U.S. Department of Education at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Estacado High School.

The group is a collaboration of the Texas Tech College of Education, Lubbock ISD, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Covenant Health System, South Plains Food Bank, United Supermarkets, United Way of Lubbock, the Betenbough Charitable Foundation, the City of Lubbock, South Plains P-20 Council and Generation Texas, according to a Texas Tech news release.
