Get Same-Day Care for What Ails You at New Clinic

Regional School of Medicine Dean Gary Ventolini, M.D., announced a new collaboration between the School of Medicine and the School of Allied Health Sciences’ Physician Assistant Program to help increase new patients and minimize appointment wait time for those in Midland and Odessa who need same-day medical care.

Medical Director Ramachandra Chemitiganti, M.D., and physician assistant faculty members will provide care for patients at the Texas Tech Physicians Midland Same Day Clinic, located at 301 North N St., with the support of licensed nurses.

The new clinic reflects continued growth at the Permian Basin campus, and is an effort to meet the health care needs of the area’s expanding population and unique employment environment.

“The goal of the Texas Tech Physicians Same-Day Clinic is to provide patients with the highest quality of customer service and care for acute illness and minor injuries and return them to their normal routine as quickly as possible,” Ventolini said.

The clinic houses three exam rooms, with an average wait time of less than 15 minutes. Providers can perform pre-employment physicals with the exception of Department of Transportation and Workman’s Compensation exams with or without drug screenings as specified by the employer. In addition, clinic staff can directly refer patients to Texas Tech Physicians for:

• Internal medicine
• Rheumatology
• Endocrinology
• Behavioral health
• Pulmonology
• Pediatrics
• OB-GYN
• Family medicine
• Geriatrics
• General surgery

The clinic will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours will be expanded as volume dictates. All forms of commercial health insurance will be accepted. Self-pay rates are $75. Uninsured patients will be charged on a sliding fee scale.
