Creating and developing a baccalaureate degree nursing program at UT Permian Basin has taken more than two years and has involved a lot of paperwork, building renovation and research. But Program Director Dorothy Jackson considers that work the easy part.

“It’s complex to teach (students) all the things they need to know and how to help people who are ill get well,” said Jackson, who worked both as chair of the nursing department at Odessa College and as an assistant professor at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Odessa before coming to UTPB.
