Get Ready to Get FiT, Lubbock
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging will kick off GET FiT Lubbock 2012 with online registration Oct. 8 – 21. Get FiT Lubbock 2012 begins Oct. 21.
GET FiT Lubbock is an eight-week fun competition to help people in the community meet their fitness and weight loss goals. The competition includes exercise and weight loss activities, encouragement and support from health and fitness professionals and free GET FiT nutritional lectures. Teams of four people will compete. The mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle in the community to reap the benefits of improved health and fitness.
Since its launch in 2007, GET FiT Lubbock has resulted in close to 100,000 hours of exercise and12,000 pounds lost for participants.
