Texas, along with the rest of the nation, faces a shortage of nurse practitioners and physician's assistants, according to a professor of nurse practitioners at Texas Tech University. "There's a great demand," said Emily Merrill, who spoke at a reception for nurse practitioners at Cypress Street Station Monday.
