Farm-to-Work Program Encourages Employees to Eat Healthy

WHAT:  Farmer’s Market hosted by the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Garrison Institute on Aging and Healthy Lubbock as part of Workforce Overall Wellness (WOW!) program.

WHEN:   11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday (Aug. 17)

WHERE: TTUHSC Academic Classroom Building Courtyard, 3601 4th St.

EVENT:  Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available for TTUHSC employees to purchase from a local farmer. Healthy recipes, complete with samples, will be available from a registered dietician. Cash, checks and debit/credit cards are accepted.

Produce, dependent on availability, includes:


  • Apples

  • Avocados

  • Beans

  • Blueberries

  • Cilantro

  • Sweet corn

  • Cucumbers

  • Garlic

  • Grapes

  • Peppers

  • Onions

  • Lemons and limes

  • Okra

  • Honeydew melon and cantaloupe
