Breast Center of Excellence Marks Ten Years of Service
The TTUHSC Breast Center of Excellence (BCE) held its Annual Partner and Provider Meeting Sept. 29 at the Northwest Texas Hospital Community Lecture Room. The 2018 meeting also celebrated BCE’s 10 years of providing community service in the Texas Panhandle.

A School of Excellence
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing was named a National League for Nursing (NLN) Centers of Excellence. The NLN Centers of Excellence were formally recognized during the Honors Convocation in Chicago at the 2018 NLN Education Summit Sept. 14.
GiRL Power to Feature Miss Texas 2018
The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health will host GiRL Power (Girls in Real Life) from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Amarillo Civic Center Regency Room.
Researcher Blocks Protein that Defeats Powerful Tumor Suppressor in Breast Cancer
Researchers at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine have blocked the protein to defeat the effects of p53 loss more effectively than any existing cancer medicine.
Hance Donation to Upgrade, Name Pediatrics Waiting Room
In a Sept. 28 ceremony, Texas Tech University (TTU) System Interim Chancellor and TTUHSC President Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., and Texas Tech University System Chancellor Emeritus Kent Hance announced a gift to the Amarillo Department of Pediatrics.
